This wasn't it - Strokes to record again
The Strokes will be reconvening in January 2010 to record a new album and plan to return to the stage at the Isle of Wight Festival. After each member has been involved in their various side-projects and solo jaunts, the band plan to reassemble in the New Year to record a new album - their first since 2006's First Impressions of Earth. The Strokes' bassist, Nikolai Fraiture, posted on Twitter that he had been scouting studios with the band's manager in New York for "what looks like a Jan recording!!!" The band have also been announced as one of the headliners for the Isle of Wight festival, taking place in June, alongside fellow New Yorkers Blondie.
