Good thing Kurt Cobain is dead, because if he saw how much the makers of the latest Guitar Hero have degraded him he would probably commit suicide anyway. Guitar Hero 5, which was released in the US on Monday and hits the rest of the world later this year, features the late Nirvana frontman as an unlockable character portrayed in awesome physical realism. It's what you can make him do, however, that strays light years from reality.
Check out the video below to see your grunge idol rapping Public Enemy, rocking out to Bon Jovi, dancing around like an imbecile and - generally regarded by all music media as the highest indignity (and I'd have to agree) - singing Bush songs: yes, Kurt Cobain singing Gavin Rossdale while posturing in a way that would have him throwing up in his grave.
It really is a sight to behold - then erase from your memory as fast as you can. Wasn't the whole point of Guitar Hero that you could play along with your favourite rock stars in a way that they would actually find acceptably realistic?
