The main protagonists of Sneaky Sound System, Black Angus and MC Double D, first met at a 'Cowboys and Indians' theme party. The pair set up a Sunday club night and began playing music. The outfit first became known for their remixes, releasing the CD Other People's Music in 2003. Their performances were in high demand and they played at numerous parties around the globe.
Black Angus and MC Double D then set up their own label, Whack Recordings, and set about making their own music. After a random meeting, Connie Mitchell, formerly of Sydney band Primary, was invited along to contribute vocals to the recordings. It was from these sessions that the group's debut self-titled album was born. Released in 2006, the album spawned the singles 'I Love It', 'Pictures' and 'UFO'.
The single 'I Love It' holds the record for longest charting single in the ARIA top 100 charts, after holding its ground for 70 weeks. The group picked up two ARIA Awards in 2007: Best Dance Release and Breakthrough Artist (Album).
Sneaky Sound System have opened for the likes of Robbie Williams, Scissor Sisters and Jamiroquai. Connie Mitchell contributed vocals to a number of tracks on Kanye West's album Graduation and has also laid down vocals tracks for Snoop Dogg.
